Welcome to religious education

Our Mission is to provide the children of St Mary’s a total learning environment in which they will experience what discipleship of Jesus means. 

Our goal is to nurture a faith that is living, conscious, and active through the light of instruction. 

• Families of all students in the Religious Education Program must be registered parishioners in St. Mary's R.C. Church.

• Parents of transfer students will be requested to provide information regarding the Religious Education program where their children received instruction. Documentation of Sacraments administered, attendance records, and years of participation will be requested from the DRE of the sending program, particularly for students in the Sacramental years of First Holy Communion and Confirmation.

• The Religious Education Program Calendar will be emailed to all parents and is posted on our website under the Religious Education grade pages. 

• For security reasons, all doors will be locked while the students are receiving instruction.

• Mass attendance is encouraged every Sunday, but is required as indicated on your child's calendar.

• On Grade level Mass weekends, students will be requested to participate in Holy Mass.

• Grades 1 through 5 - More than 2 unexcused absences from the Program may necessitate retention in the same grade.

• Make-up work will be assigned and must be completed for missed classes.

• Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. In the event of disrespectful and/or inappropriate behaviors the parent/s and or emergency contact will be notified to come immediately to remove the student. A subsequent conference with the DRE may be scheduled based on the nature of the inappropriate behavior.

• Cell phones and/or other electronic devices may be used at administrative discretion.

• Modest attire is required for attendance at both Holy Mass and Religious Education classes and programs
